David Zimmer in the NYTimes

Zimmer, Citron & Clarke’s David Zimmer was quoted in the NYTimes article, “Some Giant Law Firms Shy Away From Pro Bono Immigration Cases.”
The article reports that major law firms are now declining pro bono work in light of the Trump Administration’s campaign (largely through executive orders) against large law firms that are engaged in matters the administration does not like. Big law firms that were once serving a critical role in cases involving immigrant rights are now shying away from that work, afraid of incurring Mr. Trump’s wrath.
The article states that, with big law backing away from a large piece of their usual pro bono docket, “public interest groups are seeking new partners,” and “[o]ne of those is David Zimmer, a lawyer in Boston, who recently started his own firm with two other longtime lawyers. Mr. Zimmer, who left the large law firm Goodwin Procter, where he was a partner focused on appeals, said he had already been approached by public interest organizations looking for pro bono help on immigration cases.”
David Zimmer is quoted as saying, “We opened our doors in March, and have been approached to handle cases that big firms no longer anted to be associated with.”
